Yup it's been an entire week and Myspace still won't let folks vote. Kind of funny, but we are not ones to get hung up on minor details like that. We've got other plans in the works.
You might have noticed that I haven't been online as much thanks to my new job, but I guarantee all ten of our fans out there that we have no intention to stop making music and we should have more soon.
So since the myspace contest was a bust I'm trying to think of some other way to get our new song out there in an interesting way. I'll come up with something. In the meantime, the band is still trying to build on it's fanbase. Tell your friends, family, and the monster living under your bed about us. I'll be back soon with more updatey stuff, but for now I'll end on this note. You guys are awesome and we love all the attention you give us. So keep giving and we'll do what we can to return the favor

So over the past few weeks the band has received a lot of attention from new and old fans alike. I can sleep at night knowing people actually enjoy our music haha
All the comments and messages we've gotten act as fuel, pushing us to try harder. So we're stepping up our game.
I'm thinking of releasing an EP with a few of our most popular songs and a couple that have yet to be heard outside of the "Lab". Not so much for profit, but as a chance to spread our music and give our fans food for their mp3 players. The details are still being hammered out, but we've already got a list of tracks and we plan to record them as soon as possible.
When I say "we" I mean, myself and Jense Jorgenson. Before now, you've heard him sing with me on a few tracks, and even when I've recorded all the instruments by myself he has been there to give critical advice that helped me produce better music. Up until now he has been an "honorary member", but I felt the best decision I could make at this point would be inviting him to the team. He is a talented and dedicated musician and one of my best friends. I can't wait to see what the two of us can come up with this summer. 8^)
In the meantime, the Toyota/Myspace contest begins soon and I'll be counting on the support of everyone out there to help us out. Our entry is a brand new acoustic song, and I really hope you enjoy it.
Next Monday...be ready.

So in the past week, there's been a little progress made.
Finally got myself a job and I'll be working soon, I've also been working on new tracks. I redid "Third Wheel", because I felt like the first version was a huge disappointment. But the new one feels closer to what I originally intended, so I'm happy.
In less than stellar news, Evan and I had to part ways, so I am without a bassist.
Fortunately, I have my own bass and since I've been recording all the bass tracks so far, it's not a crippling blow, but it might be a bit lonely on stage haha.
As always, I appreciate the support from everyone. Whether I've known you for a long time or you're a just casual listener dropping in, it makes me feel good to know you're out there. Honestly, I'm not sure what my next move should be. I'm piecing something together, but I'm not sure what I should be focused on while I'm writing/recording. I would love to hear some words of wisdom if anyone has them 8^l

So, I've finished the video, written new songs, and been working on recording. The lamplight is burning and I'm getting back into the flow of things. "More Reasons To Hate Me" is still a work in progress, but it continues to grow out of sight in the kitchen cabinet of my brain. In the meantime, I need all of you, fans, friends, and anyone else to spread the word about A Bad Night For A Hero. You guys are the fuel that keeps me going, and if we can get more people to listen and enjoy the music, something good is bound to happen.
This weekend I'll be recording two songs. One of which will be uploaded, the other will remain in the dark until it's time.Until then keep kickin ass and tuning in. 8^)

So while working on all this new material, it occurred to me that I'm really tired of posting half-decent music. My skills in production are still weak and I feel like I'm always coming up short of what I actually want (especially with midi drums). It's not the songs themselves that bother me, it's the lack of quality and professionalism.
So I think for a bit we'll be posting acoustic songs, until I can get the hang of things. Any thoughts on this? I'm looking for honest feedback.

have led to an interesting web of emotions and near fatal car accidents. I've been inspired to write so much and it's hard to know where to start. Originally, I had figured our first project as a band would be this short dance with my melodramatic brain waves, but I feel capable of so much more!
Our newest song is just about done and I have a very good feeling about it. I can't wait to lay it on you guys. 8^j

Evan Everitt is the new bass player. He's amazing, so give him props. We've got alot in store from here on out. We'll be looking for new additions to the band, recording new songs, recording new vids in the meantime, and preparing to play shows as soon as possible. Truly, this is a sign from the universal gods/goddesses or that one God guy, that ABNFAH should be playing on your ipod/zune and that as human beings...
...You should love us.

So the other day I met up with Evan Everett, A very cool guy who plays a very smooth bass. We had a good practice session going and it was obvious that there was chemistry between us. We started by covering Say Anything's "Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too" and it didn't take us long to play well together. I'm hoping that this is a sign of things to come and that in the very near future Evan may become a permanent staple in ABNFAH.

So I've nearly finished the first new track. I don't want to post the whole song until the others are done too. I'm going to put the rough instrumental up just so you all can get a feel for it. It starts off kind of slow, but gets a little harder near the end, which is a little different from what I normally do.
Check it out, give me your thoughts.

Today I start working on a new project. Titled "More Reasons To Hate Me".
I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with it, but I want to make sure it sounds good so I don't regret it later.
I'm also sure that in the near future I will be working with a friend on a collab which will hopefully go over well.
I'm hoping for the best with everything that comes my way. It's people like you, who actually care to listen, that keep me going.
